Rutherford County Schools Awards Ceremony

Rutherford County Schools recently held a ceremony honoring its 2025-2026 Teachers of the Year and soon-to-be retirees.

Held at Middle Tennessee State University’s Student Union Ballroom, the event recognized Teachers of the Year from 52 schools and more than 30 retirees for their dedicated service. As a collective, the two groups have devoted more than 1,300 years of service to the school district.
Three educators were named district-level Teachers of the Year: Tyler Mingle (Christiana Elementary School), Marian Fleener (Rocky Fork Middle School) and Lacey Nau (Central Magnet School). Buchanan Elementary School’s Ashley Witt was named Principal of the Year and Mark Gullion, the district’s director of special populations and federal programs, earned Supervisor of the Year honors. All five have advanced to the Tennessee Department of Education regional level awards.
